Club Development

In January 2009, The Riccall United Committee appointed a new Club Development Officer. Roger White was appointed as United's new Club Development Officer following a very positive meeting with Liam Bradley followed by his introduction to the commitee and a discussion of his ideas.. Roger as a great deal of experience in developing and running grass roots football clubs and is a very welcome addition to the club. This appointment is seen as a major step towards the development of a junior section at the club and the further development of the adult section having already achieved Charter Standard Status last season.

Over the coming months Roger will be working with Liam and the other members of the club and committee to produce a Club Development Plan and to also liaise with local schools; community groups and organisations; local authorities; and the County FA to develop links and partnerships between them and the club to help the future future development of the club and the community of Riccall.

In April 2009, The club formed a new Junior Committee and a new Under 10's section that will be managed by Steve Rodwell and assisted by Stuart Davies and Sean Bugg. They have entered the Selby and District Junior Football League for the 2009/2010 season. In addition to this in June 2009, the club formed an Under 7's section that will be managed by David Lalley and he will be assisted by Andy Precious and Jamie Wetherall. They too have been entered into the Selby and District Junior Football League for the 2009/2010 season. Links have been created with 2 focus primary schools - Riccall and Escrick, with United utilising the schools pitches; facilities; and equipment with the club providing coaching sessions and holiday coaching courses in return. The links are down to the hard work of Roger White and School Liaison Officer Andy Leech.

David Winterburn joined the club in April as part of the new Junior Committee in the role of Junior Development Officer. Part of his role is to organise the annual football tournament that will be held in conjunction with the Riccall Carnival weekend with the 1st annual tournament being held Saturday 27th June 2009.
